Midnight Ruin by Katee Robert

Olympus and more of its shenanigans!

“This is a woman who always says what she means, and fuck anyone who expects anything else.”

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

More spice and more drama! With book 6 of the Dark Olympus series being completed, the spice level has been turned up a notch.

Each book in the Dark Olympus series contains a couple or even a throuple. It is better to start reading the first book in the series to understand more of the characters and their actions/growing. The first book was regarding the interesting relationship between Hades and Persephone.

If you’re looking to get into a dark romance series, I highly suggest the Dark Olympus series. It has some very hot spicy scenes and the plot ain’t too bad either. Midnight Ruin focuses on this amazing throuple: Eurydice, Charon and Orpheus.

NOW! Lets get into what I really liked about the book and what I didn’t like. First of all, there could have been some more plot…but if you didn’t read the previous books; you’d be a bit lost.

Some background regarding our main characters: Eurydice and Orpheus used to date but Orpheus did some shady things in their relationship. He left Eurydice to fight for herself during a squabble between the low city and the high city. She never forgave him up until Midnight Ruin.

I don’t want to ruin the entire book for those who haven’t read this. The spice level is quite HOT. Charon and Eurydice have been the best of friends ever since Eurydice and Orpheus broke up in the previous books. However, Charon has always wanted Eurydice to be more then friends. They do start sleeping with each other; she now sometimes lives in his house but she does have a permanent room set up in the mansion of Hades and Persephone (Eurydice’s sister).

As with Robert’s latest books, the sex scenes are off the chart. All of our main characters sleep with each other. Some M/F, M/M, and M/M/F scenes are throughly played out. BUT…if you’re not into this type of stuff; then I would recommend for you NOT to read this book.

There is some dominance/submission in this book. Eurydice plays the dominant and feels very powerful when she tells Orpheus what to do. Orpheus BEGGED Eurydice to forgive him for the ways he hurt her in the past. In order for her to forgive him, he had to submit himself to do whatever she pleases. In one instant, he had to crawl around like a dog. He also would do ANYTHING in order to protect her from the outside forces of Olympus.

One thing I did not like about this book is when Charon kept calling Eurydice “baby.” The last I checked, Charon and Eurydice were only friends. Unless they were dating, then being called “baby” would be ok. As women, we do not like it when random men or men we know to call us “baby.” Eurydice did not like to be called that. Did Charon ever stop calling her that? If you want to know what happens throughout this book…then I suggest you read it!!

HAPPY READING!!
