What exactly are you reading to the start of this new year? What is tickling your fancy at this very moment? Are you getting into new genres that you’ve never read before?

I am currently reading Midnight Ruin by Katee Robert. It is book 6 in the Dark Olympus Series. This particular series takes place in the modern times of Olympus, Greece. It’s a retelling of the Thirteen (the thirteen Greek Gods ie: Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena etc). In in this particular book, we focus our attention on Eurydice (Demeter’s daughter, Hades sister-in-law, Persephone’s sister), Charon (Hades closest confidant), and Orpheus (Apollos brother).

It is considered dark romance fantasy but in relative terms, smut romance. If you’re asking yourself now what exactly is smut?? Well, let me tell you!

Smut romance has heavily sexual scenes. The plot in this particular series isn’t exactly all sexual but it relies mostly on sexual scenes and the like. Series like this can also ramp up your individual sex life if you need some more excitement. Smut can not be for everyone. Be prepared for any trigger warnings at the beginning of any of this genre.

I am hoping to finish this particular book within the next few days. It just came out to bookstores and e-reading devices on January 16, 2024. I will be providing a review of this book whenever I do finish it.

Besides this book, I am also reading The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan and From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout. I am hoping (a very STRONG hoping) to finish these two books by the end of the month so I can start my February TBR (which will be in another post).
